We believe it is important for you to use your checking account responsibly and to never intentionally overdraw your account. However, we realize that financial shortfalls happen from time to time. The following services are available to cover you in the event that you overdraw your checking account.
Overdraft Payment Options:
Transfer from another account - If you have other deposit accounts with us, you can authorize us to transfer the funds needed to cover your overdraft. A fee of $2.00 per transfer will apply.
Line of Credit - A line of credit is available to cover overdrafts. This service requires you to complete a loan application. The approval and limit of the Line of Credit is based on your credit worthiness. A one time set-up fee of $25.00 plus $2.00 per daily transfer will apply.
Overdraft Privilege Overdraft Privilege is a service we add to your checking account to cover overdrafts to a set limit, subject to the eligibility criteria explained below. While we reserve the right to unilaterally refuse to pay any item that is presented, with Overdraft Privilege we will generally pay your overdraft items up to a certain limit. When we pay overdraft items you will be charged the normal $18.00 per item Overdraft handling fee. The overdraft items and all applicable fees will count towards the total Overdraft Privilege limit.
Overdraft Privilege Eligibility -. Whether your overdrafts will be paid is discretionary and we reserve the right not to pay. For example, we typically do not pay overdrafts if your account is not in good standing, or you are not making regular deposits, or you have too may overdrafts.
No application is required for Overdraft Privilege. You will generally be eligible for Overdraft Privilege unless:
Covering the Overdraft checking account.
You should bring your checking account to a positive balance as soon as possible and certainly within 10 days. You will have up to 30 days maximum to pay any overdraft and associated fees. However, we can ask for repayment sooner. Any deposit you make will first be applied to any overdrawn balance and fees.
Suspension of Privilege - After the Overdraft Privilege has been activated, we have the right to suspend the privilege at any time based on failure to meet our eligibility criteria.
Exclusion from Initial Offering - You may be excluded from the initial offering of the Overdraft Privilege if your account has been overdrawn for more than 10 consecutive days, you have had excessive overdrafts in the past year or we otherwise determine this account feature may not be appropriate for you. We will subsequently review accounts that were not eligible at the initial activation and grant them the privilege if they become eligible. Eligibility for Business accounts will be determined on an account by account basis.
Transactions Covered by Overdraft Privilege - The Overdraft Privilege is available for checks you write, ACH items and preauthorized automatic transfers. It is not available for ATM transactions, Debit Card purchases or other electronic transfers.
Payment Order of Items - Items are typically paid in the following order; ATM withdrawals, debit card transactions, ACH items, preauthorized automatic transfers, telephone-initiated transfers and any other electronic transfers, and then checks written in sequential check number order. However there may be exceptions to this payment order from time to time.
Opt Out - You may never need to take advantage of these overdraft checking account payment options, but you may find them useful in the event of a temporary shortfall. In the event that you do not want to have Overdraft Privilege, simply contact us and we will remove this benefit from your account.
Additional Information - Your account agreement describes the duties, obligations, and rights of depositors, authorized signatories and the bank with regard to your deposit accounts. That account agreement is incorporated herein for all purposes as if it were set forth verbatim as to matters not directly addressed by this disclosure. Your account agreement and this disclosure shall be construed to minimize conflicts between them.
Waiver: The Bank's forbearance from, or delay in, exercising any of it's rights, remedies, privileges, or right to insist on your strict performance of any provision of your account agreement, this Overdraft Privilege disclosure, or any other provision related to your account, shall not be construed to be a current or future waiver of the Bank's right, remedies, or privileges.
